    Simple and reliable.
I wanted to update the Satnav in a Lexus IS200 but the inbuilt maps were last updated in 2011. This unit comes with a mount to fix to the dashboard, and a suction mount to attach to the windscreen. I use the suction mount (screws into the top of the unit) and rest the bottom of the unit in the recess containing the in-build navigation screen. The unit is powered by is a single cable run down to the cigarette lighter power dongle. It’s easy to remove for storage, and quick to replace. Both Android Auto and Apple car play are supported by bluetooth (no cables). I used both and there are no issues with dropped connections, but it does disconnect if the engine stalls or you remove the key. It is also fiddly to change over phones, as it remembers the last one connected and tries to reconnect – I had to forget the connection to get it to switch. If you use the same phone all the time then its seamless it just connects and goes.I have only used it for apple/google maps so far, and checked that the built in front camera was working. That leaves the reversing camera and aux/radio hookup for sound integration, but I can’t really see me using these as I only fit it for long runs. The built in speaker is fine for map instructions. All together this is much better than I expected.

A great alternative to a full change of your car stereo.
I recently purchased a car that had no DAB etc, and was real old school to put into context it has a cassette player (How old?) Rather than have to go through the process of finding a stereo that would fit, then work out what leads I would need, the kit I would need to remove the old stereo and then if I wanted to change my car, taking the new stereo out a replacing the old one to keep the car authentic, I opted for this. What an amazing alternative, out of the box, plugged in, connected to the phone, done. Apple car play in action, in less than 5 minutes.Read the instructions in relation to the FM connecting, make sure your stereo is off before setting up, once connected, store 106 as a favourite and your music and phone are crystal clear through my outdated stereo.Has the benefit of a dash cam at the front as well, also a rear camera for those that have the tech nohow to connect.Would certainly recommend this as an option to anyone.

Try it out before you fit it all in.
My biggest mistake with this was fitting it all in neatly before testing. My experience has not been a smooth one. I wanted a touchscreen camera and Android Auto for my truck. It already has a stellar Bluetooth amplifier (so no radio receiver) and with its 3.5mm din aux input, you would think that this unit would work as advertised? Wrong! The first problem was Android Auto itself. My 2 month old phone just would not work with it, nothing, nada. It took hours of searching until I came across a You Tube video which mentioned downgrading the settings in your mobile phone to make Android Auto work. I had to go into some kind of Developer mode and make all sorts of adjustments before the unit finally recognised my phone and started working. I’ve put my phone back to 2019 or something.Problem 2 was that AUX output plugged with a cable between the unit and my amplifier. It’s best described like this: Set the music playing on your mobile phone and put it at the back of a closed cupboard somewhere. Then pour yourself a delicious bowl of Rice Krispies and put your ear right to it. All I got was fizzing and crackles with the faint noise of music in the background. It was on full volume too. I tried it with another speaker – same. Then I tried another source (my phone) into my own reciever – perfect. I tried all sorts of ways – but that Aux output simply does not work.Having no choice I caved in and bought a new head unit for my truck, replacing the old Bluetooth amp – which kind of defeats the whole object really. It too has an Aux input which I tried – Snap crackle pop again. So then after fitting an aeriel I could try the transmitter option which luckily came with some success. Whilst it still fizzes, pops and whines in the background, you can hear music and such from this Android Auto unit. I’ve tried different frequencies but it makes no difference. I’ll live with it for now – maybe later I’ll replace it with a proper one from a known manufacturer.A really annoying feature is that both my new radio and this screen are on the same circuit. When you turn the engine off, the screen goes off first leaving the radio to actually play for a split second, whats on 99.9fm – which is nothing. So you get a split second of really loud static in your ears.To be fair, the cameras work fairly well. It’s not clear in the descritpion but the front one is adjustable, so you can aim it where you want. It’s worth adding that I did try to communicate with customer services during this time. But there’s a very definate language barrier and they didn’t have a scooby doo what I was talking about other than they won’t refund unless it’s broken. So to anyone I’d say set it up loosely first to make sure it works before you spend time fitting it in.**Edit 1 month later** To be fair, once they realised that I wasn’t happy with it, the company went out of their way to help resolve the sound issue. I would have accepted a replacement but unfortunately the unit was out of stock so instead they refunded 80% of the cost and let me keep the faulty unit. Fair enough I suppose.

    Doesn’t work properly
Paid £80 for someone to fit it and it just keeps switching off, absolutely pointless and waste of my money.

    Brilliant little device!
Purchased this for my sons car as a gift. Easy to install and works a dream. Voice control brilliant. Keeps everything hands free and safe while driving. Sat Nav really good. Everything you need for a fraction of the cost of some other devices out there. Thank you!

    Nice Product easy to fit
This is a nice product was easy to fit in my daughters older car , only issue was the sound quality from its internal speaker is poor , but use the supplied Aux cable and turn internal sound off and it’s as good as the Standard fit unit in my Newer car and Apple CarPlay is wireless.
