    Actually really good!
I bought one of these to replace two long-serving thermal mugs I had that were damaged in close succession. I was dubious about this one due to the price and some of the negative reviews. I had been looking at more expensive, and much more expensive options – however I decided to take a chance on this. It’s actually really good! It’s well constructed and keeps drinks hot for much longer than my previous two – black tea or coffee will stay hot for up to an hour, and “warm to tepid” for a further one hour.I had been looking at a Yeti Rambler priced at around £30-40 – the apparent quality of construction appealed as did the stainless inner lining. They probably are the best on the market, and more “leak proof” (which these don’t even claim to be – I can’t believe people whinge about them not being when they clearly state that they aren’t) and keep drinks hotter for longer. That said, I don’t necessarily want a drink to remain “undrinkably hot” for hours on end! Also with the Yeti, I didn’t like the look of the handle – it doesn’t look that comfortable to hold on long walks, and because it is “closed” it is not possible to hook it onto anything if you need two free hands. This Thermos mug has a nice large handle with a good grip and you can hook it onto things.Negatives – I’m not keen on the plastic inner (would rather have stainless steel and pay more for it) due to concerns over long term exposure to heated plastics (though that might make it difficult to achieve the same thermal properties); the lid could possibly be better designed and slightly more leak proof, and the handle has a recess in it that makes it less comfortable to hold if you hold it “between fingers”. Minor niggles completely, especially as the mug works so well and is excellent value.Highly recommended. I might buy one or two more as spares, keep one in the car etc. I’m not sure I’ll bother shelling out £30+ for a Yeti now!

Thermos Thermocafe 2060 Steel Travel Mug, 0.4 Litre – Purchased Dec 17th
As with all my reviews I prefer to have an item for a while before I review it. In this way I think I can be fair to the product and also give all you folks a clear picture!Thermos Thermocafe 2060 Steel Travel Mug, 0.4 Litre – Purchased Dec 17thI purchased two of these, one for me and one for my lady friend :] The idea was to have a coffee each in the car on the way to work during the frosty winter days. I would say that the basic function of this mug would be to keep liquids hot but also safe during travel – being a travel mug these are fair expectations and in most regards I do believe the product is almost there. Some things I noticed that other folks seem to be commenting on:- CLEANING: The item is NOT dish washer safe and will need a hand wash after every use. I fill it with freshly ground coffee and I find that if I miss even one wash the coffee grinds will stick to the inside. Since you really should wash it after every use no worries right? Let you decide. However I would have liked to see this point as well as all of the other detailed care instructions on the enclosed leaflet included in the listing.- LID: The seal the lid makes with the mug does not inspire confidence. I won’t go far as to say it is too loose but certainly it can easily be prised off with my little finger applying the lightest of pressure. Remember that I have two of them and both are the same, I wonder if there are worse examples out there that account for the other reviews? Having said this I performed a little test. Filling both mugs to the Thermos logo (any higher and they over flow when you put the lid on) I found I could turn the mug inverted and the lid remained in place. There was however slight leakage from both. A regular drip, drip rather than a constant flow.- SHAPE: The cup tapers from the bottom getting gradually wider towards the top. Pretty cool as it fits almost any size cup holder. In case anyone else has one, I use this in a Zafira where it fits fine in the centre console cup holder. The Zafira doesn’t include door cup holders so the passenger will just have to hold onto to theirs ;]Over all for the price I paid versus what I got I think it deserves the 4 stars. It certainly could be improved upon in some areas though.

Thermos = Sleek design, hot drinks!
I have owned a multitude of hot drink mugs, functional, novelty, supermarket own brand, camping etc etc.I drink tea all day at work and became sick of people picking up my mugs and claiming them as their own so purchased one of these due to fact that its unique amongst the standard pottery mugs, the reviews are solid and its a good price point.Build is nice and solid, I like the matte finish, the plastic surround means you have touch points that don’t conduct heat onto your skin, the same with the handle which is wide enough to fit your hand without your fingers scolding on the metal, not that the metal gets very warm. The size is just perfect for me, slightly larger volume wise than a standard mug but not something that’s going to cause a riot at brew time because you’ve emptied half the kettle into it.Thermos is a byword for quality, I’d always imagined it to be an expensive brand in a market place with like for like cheaper alternatives, this mug is a clear indicator that that’s not the case.Great looking, perfectly sized, brilliantly designed at a sensible price, five stars!

    OK but has its faults
I wanted a thermal mug to use in the car, but the design of this one makes it very top heavy when full. The drinks holder by my gear stick is a lot wider and lower than the mug so the result was the drink falling out of the holder as I drove round a slight curve and it rolled across the floor and spilt out of the lid. For the car I had to buy a completely different one that is wider and more like a proper mug shape.I still use it for picnics and when I am at work, and it is good for that purpose. Keeps drink hot and doesn’t make tea or coffee taste weird like some cups can do. However, sometimes when I take a sip, no drink comes out of the open hole and I have to lower it and try again. Usually it does come out the second time, but I am a bit baffled by this. Maybe there is a slight rim inside the cup that the liquid naturally follows instead of going directly through the mouth hole.

Buen material y bien presentado. Llevo con él ya varios meses.
